Background: 

 

Concerned about the sustainability of its supplies, a multinational company in the electronics sector contacted Psyché 16 to investigate and obtain precise information regarding its upstream graphite value chain, a strategic mineral for its operations.

 

Methodology and Deliverables: 

 

On our client’s behalf, we mapped out the corporation’s entire supply chain, identifying and collecting data on the key players at every level of the transformation chain (governance, shareholder structure, supplier contracts, etc.). 

 

Acquiring the expected information involved implementing a negotiation strategy with suppliers, including guarantees of confidentiality, transparency, and data exchange. In cases of non-cooperation, priority was given to obtaining information through indirect means (contacting competing companies and former employees).

 

Impact:

 

The investigation identified bottlenecks in the mineral refining segment and provided the executive committee with recommendations for diversifying their procurement strategy.
