Assessment of Raw Material Supply and Associated Risks

Leading Luxury Brand

marbe v 3.png

Background:

A company operating in the luxury sector selected Psyché 16 to identify all the reputational risk factors associated with its marble procurement.

Methodology:

Our experts performed an extensive analysis of some thirty ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) risks associated with certain marble-producing countries from which the client was sourcing its supplies.

We acquired our intelligence from a variety of specialized sources, including local contacts, country experts and natural stone traders.

The materiality of each risk was then assessed using a calculation method developed by Psyché 16 that takes into account risk severity, the client’s level of control over said risk, the strategic importance of the resource for the client and the impact of the risks on the company’s economic activity.

Results and Impact:

Our assessment identified Pakistan as a country with significant reputational risk. We recommended that the client disengage from the region in favor of other countries.
