Devoxx France Keynote – Psyché 16: How to Navigate a World "Doped" to Metals

During a keynote entitled "A World Addicted to Metals," Guillaume Pitron, co-founder of Psyché 16, highlighted, alongside Agnès Crepet, Head of Software Longevity and IT at Fairphone, how our digital lives are heavily reliant on critical and strategic metals.

Guillaume identified four key areas of action for companies to solidify their operations: assess their supply chain to understand their metal needs, adapt their strategy to diversify supply sources, reassess procurement practices, and finally, use open-source data to help anticipate market fluctuations and secure mineral supply. Guillaume Pitron also emphasized the need for a proactive approach to deal with the ESG challenges associated with mining.

Guillaume and Agnès concluded with two messages: mines are here to stay and will not disappear from our lives. The challenge, therefore, is to work towards making them as ethical and sustainable as possible. Furthermore, it is crucial to extend the lifespan of our products by encouraging more recycling and repair.
